Passports

The Passports tab allows you to track medical radiation exposure and risk for an unlimited number of users.

Passports

The top-level view displays a list of users along with their photos and details. To view or edit the user details, tap the blue disclosure button on the right of the user. Make sure to set both the gender and birthday since this affects the calculated risks for that user. To add a new user, tap the + button on the top right of the view. Note that users are displayed and sorted according to the system contact settings. These can be changed using the Settings application in Sort Order and Display Order under Mail, Contacts, Calendars. To view a user's passport, tap the user.

Passport

The passport view displays the medical radiation exposure and cancer risk for a user. It also includes their background radiation exposure and risk. The total radiation exposure and risks (cancer incidence/cancer mortality) are displayed at the bottom. The Background radiation is listed at the top followed by medical exams. Each item contains both the radiation exposure and the cancer incidence/mortality risks. To add a new exam, tap the + button on the top right. Tap the background or an exam to view or edit it. Swipe an exam horizontally to delete it. To email a report, tap the email button on the bottom left. An email compose view is displayed without leaving Radiation Passport Pro. If set, the Report Email address is used for the To address (see Settings below). Tap the graphs button on the bottom right to view both the exposure and dosage graphs.

Background

The background view displays a list of settings and questions related to your location and lifestyle. Each section header shows the radiation exposure total for that category (and percent of the total background radiation exposure). The total annual radiation exposure is displayed on the toolbar at the bottom along with the incidence and mortality cancer risks.

Exam

The exam view allows you to view and set the exam details and any notes. Select the type and exam from the list or if it's not listed, select the Other type and enter the exam name. Tap the Dosage field to select the average dosage (tap Use Average) or enter a custom value. Select the blue units button to change the dosage units. To delete the exam, tap the Delete Exam button at the bottom.

Graphs

The graphs view displays radiation Exposure and Risk graphs. Rotate the device to view the graphs in either portrait or landscape modes. Zoom in or out by pinching the screen in or out. The Exposure graph shows a bar graph containing radiation exposure by exam type, and the total exams and total background radiation exposure. The Risk graph shows a bar graph with estimated cancer risks in red. it also includes some other common risks of death for comparison in blue.

Exams

The Exams tab provides a quick way to find average radiation dosages for exams and calculate their related risks. Enter the details including the patient gender and age (this is used to calculate the risk), and tap the Calculate button. The graphs view is displayed with bar graphs for Exposure and Risk. Rotate the device to view the graphs in either portrait or landscape modes. Zoom in or out by pinching the screen in or out. The Exposure graph displays the average dosage for the selected exam along with other common exams for comparison. The Risk graph displays the cancer (incidence) risk for the selected exam taking into account the gender and age. It also displays the cancer risk for other common exams for comparison.

Background

The Background tab provides further reading about radiation, exposure, medical imaging applications, and risks. It also includes a list of references with links to papers, studies, reports, and press articles. Rotate the device to view the pages in either portrait or landscape modes. Tapping on a link will exit Radiation Passport Pro and open the URL in a browser.

Settings

The Settings view allows you to configure various application options, save and restore backup files, and reset the application. It also includes links to contact Tidal Pool Software and write an App Store review.

General

The Units setting specifies which units to use throughout the app. Tap mSv to use millisieverts or REM to use REM units.

The Report Email field sets the default email address to use when emailing a medical radiation exposure and risk report.

The Numeric Input Style sets the style of the numeric keyboard to use. The Phone style lays the keyboard out similar to a phone keypad with numbers incrementing from the top. The Calculator style is the opposite with numbers displayed similar to a calculator.

The Passcode setting allows you to set a four digit passcode that is required at startup to unlock Radiation Passport Pro. The passcode must also be entered on iOS 4+ devices when switching to Radiation Passport Pro from the background. Do not lose the passcode since there is no way to retrieve your data if lost.

Backup

You can save or restore a backup file for Radiation Passport Pro. The backup file includes all users (with details/photos) and their medical exams and background exposure. The file is transferred over WiFi (WebDAV/HTTP). Connect to either the Bonjour address or IP Address displayed. To save a backup file, use either a WebDAV client or web browser to copy/download the backup file to your desktop. To restore a backup file, copy/upload the backup file from your desktop. Note that restoring a backup file will replace any existing users and their exams and background exposure.

Tap Website to view the Tidal Pool Software website. Tap Other Tidal Pool Apps to view other Tidal Pool Software apps available on the App Store.

Feedback

To write a review for Radiation Passport Pro, tap Write a Review. This will open the App Store to the Radiation Passport Pro review page.

Reset

Tap Reset to reset Radiation Passport Pro back to its original state. This will delete all users and their exams and background exposure. It will also reset all settings.
