Flights
The Flights tab allows you to search for flights and book them.
Flight Search
To search for flights, start by selecting the trip type, round-trip, one-way, or multi-city.
Next tap the From and To fields to select the departure and destination. You can search by the
airport code (3 letters), city name, airport name, or even the country. Select the Depart and
Return dates. Flights may be booked from as early as the next day until 11 months in
advance. Next select the number of passengers by tapping the Adults, Seniors, Children,
Infants (Lap), and Infants (Seat) buttons. Note that seniors must be age 65 or older, adults
between 12 and 64 years old, children from 2 to 11 years old, and infants under the age of 2 years. Tap the
left side (-) to decrease the count and the right side (+) to increase it. Finally, tap the
Service Class button to change the ticket service class. Tap the left or right side of the button to
decrease or increase the service class (Any, Economy, Business, and First). At
any time you may clear all parameters by shaking the device or tapping the Reset button on the top right.
Tap the Search button to begin the search. The results will take a moment to appear.
History
Tap the History button on the top left of the flight search view to show a list of previous searches.
Tap an item in the list to perform that search. The flight search view will return with the parameters
populated in the view. Either tap the Search button or modify any of the parameters. To delete an item
in the history, tap the - (minus) button to the left of an item and confirm by tapping the Delete button.
To delete all the items in the list, tap the Clear button on the top left. The history saves each flight
search performed until the maximum number of history items is attained. The maximum number of history items can
be set in the History Items field under Settings (described below).
Flight Results
The Flight Results view shows a list of all returned results. The displayed price is the total
price including base airfare, taxes, and fees (in US dollars). This is the price that will be charged to your
credit card. Flights that depart or arrive in nearby cities are displayed in red (tap Filter to enable or
disable nearby cities). By default, this list is sorted by price. Tap Price, Duration, Depart, or
Return to sort the list by price, total travel duration (including connections), the outbound departure
time, or the inbound departure time. The number of currently displayed flights and the total number of search results
is displayed at the bottom. Tap a flight to view the details including flight itinerary and the airfare breakdown. To
purchase and book the flight, tap the Book button on the top right of the view.
Flight Results Filter
Tap the Filter button on the top right to filter the results. Adjust the Total slider to set the
maximum total price (including fees and taxes) for a flight. The Stops section lists the total number of stops
for inbound/outbound flights. Tap the number of stops items to include or exclude flights from the search results.
The Airlines section lists all airlines returned in the results. Tap an airline to include or exclude it from
the search results. The Airports section lists all airports returned in the search results. Tap an airport to
include or exclude it from the search results. Finally, the Time section allows you to adjust the maximum
duration of a flight, the outbound departure time range, the outbound arrival time range, the inbound departure time
range, and the inbound arrival time range. Adjust the sliders to set the earliest and latest times. To clear the
filter, tap the Reset button on the top left of the view. Note that it is possible to filter all results if
the parameters set are too constrained. To find exactly the flight you want, use both sort and filter together to
narrow down your options.
Flight Booking
The Flight Booking view displays your flight itinerary at the top and sections for travellers,
credit card information, billing (and shipping, if applicable), and terms and conditions. Carefully make sure
you have selected the correct flight itinerary before continuing.
Next, fill in each traveller's name, date of birth, gender, preferences, and frequent flyer program information. If you have previously set
up Travellers in the Settings tab, you can select them in the Traveller field. This will populate
the section with the traveller's settings. It will select a suitable frequent flyer program taking into account the
airline(s) in the itinerary. You can change this to another frequent flyer program available from the traveller's
settings. To add a traveller that was not previously set up in Settings, select Custom in the
Traveller field and fill in each field. Note that the seat, meal, and special service preferences are passed
on to the airline but are not guaranteed. If applicable, select the airline for the Frequent Flyer Airline
field and enter a frequent flyer number. The frequent flyer information is passed on to the airline but may not be
elegible (please confirm with the airline when checking in).
Next, enter your credit card and billing information for the flight booking. The credit card and billing address
must be in the US or Canada (credit cards from other countries are not currently supported). Note that your credit
card information is not saved in the app, it is immediately and securely transmitted to OneTravel.
Select a Profile if you have previously set up a Profile in Settings. This will populate the
Billing and Shipping (if applicable) sections. To manually fill in the sections, select Custom
from the Profile field. Make sure to include a valid phone number and email address. The email address you
enter can be used to check the status of your flight booking (you will also receive an email from OneTravel with your
itinerary details).
Make sure to carefully read the Terms and Conditions of purchase by tapping the field. If you agree to
the terms and conditions, tap the checkbox on the left of the field.
Finally, tap the Purchase button to purchase the ticket. An alert will appear with a summary of your itinerary
details including departure and destination airports and dates/times. Carefully review the itinerary before
tapping the Confirm button. Tap the Cancel button to abort the purchase. Next, an alert will appear
with a passenger list. Make sure that each passenger name and type is correct and that it matches the name in the
passenger's photo ID. If not, tap the Cancel button and update the names. Finally, a third alert will appear
with the total purchase amount that will be immediately charged to your credit card. Tap the Purchase button
to book the flight.
After the flight is successfully purchased, you will receive an email from OneTravel with your itinerary details.
You may also check the status of your flight booking online on the
OneTravel website.
